The Quincy Varsity Orioles dropped both games of a doubleheader to Springport on Friday, falling 13-0 in Game 1 and 16-8 in Game 2. In the opener, Springport jumped out early and never looked back, scoring in each of the first three innings to take control. Josi Parker took the loss for Quincy, striking out six over three innings. Hannah Brown and Miley Poindexter each recorded a hit for the Orioles. In Game 2, Quincy showed more offensive firepower but couldn’t keep pace with Springport’s high-powered lineup. Cali Richards had a standout performance at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with a double, triple, and single. Miley Poindexter added two hits and drove in three runs, while Mackenzie Sattison also recorded two hits as Quincy totaled 11 hits as a team. Taylor Lewis provided relief in the circle, tossing four innings, while Hannah Brown started the game for the Orioles. Springport used a big third inning to take control and continued to add on, finishing with 18 hits in the game. Quincy will look to bounce back on Tuesday when they return home to host Bronson.
